If you had a Finance Director (Profit & Loss Account)

…they would manage where you are going, not just where you’ve been.

My last post highlighted Creditors and how I look at using them for working capital and improving loan repayment terms. Now I’ll focus on your Profit and Loss Account...

Most people view P&L as just the financial results of your business, but how it is compiled and presented can also affect smarter financial decisions.

Does it paint a positive picture for investors and lenders? Are your taxable profits minimised by forward spending? Are allowances fully claimed? And can changes made in previous years help attract tax refunds?

The aim is to make sure your Profit and Loss Account is properly prepared and that opportunities to improve your position have not been missed.

My next post deals with Cashflow Forecasting.

Meanwhile, if you don’t have a FD, call me.  I’m a fraction of the cost, and I work on the basis that every £1 you invest in me delivers at least a £3 return.
