My last post highlighted budgeting as the first thing I do (link) as your FFD, starting with understanding your sales, product by product, and coding the bookkeeping system so that every sale made is accurately allocated.
Then I ask your salespeople how they make each sale, the volumes they believe they can achieve in the coming year, what obstacles they will face and how they will overcome them. I apply commonsense and experience to what I hear and see and then recommend achievable figures to you, the business owner, who decides.
These become this year's sales objective.

My next blog shows how and why to identify and allocate direct costs to each product sale.
Meanwhile, if you can't wait or don't have an FD, call me. I'm a fraction of the cost, and I work on the basis that every £1 you invest in me delivers at least a £3 return.
As a Chartered Accountant and AI Business Advisor® I act as a Fractional Finance Director (FFD) to build high performance affordably with ambitious business owners.
